Mission Statement

The mission of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe’s Indian Child Welfare Program is to preserve and strengthen the long-term permanency of the family unit through programs that maintain the cultural, emotional, spiritual, and physical health of the Indian children and their families, for the Tribe is only as strong as their families.

About

The Indian Child Welfare/Youth Shelter program is designed to improve and maintain the emotional, spiritual, and physical health of Indian children and their families who experience stressful situations. The Case Manager will work to preserve and strengthen the family unit and the primary efforts will be toward keeping the family together whenever possible. The following services are provided: Investigation of child abuse & neglect reports, home monitoring, home studies, long term and permanent placements, Indian Child Welfare information and referral to other services.
