Our Vision.

The Vision of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe Social Services Department is in providing culturally appropriate quality services and support, with dignity and respect, to reflect our cultural values and empower families to promote wellness and well-being to strengthen families and community.


The Social Services Department was created in 1996 by Tribal Council. The following programs make up the department:

  • Administration
  • Career Renewal
  • Food Distribution
  • Indian Child Welfare/ Youth Shelter
  • Older American’s Program
  • STOP Violence Against Indian Women
  • Temporary Assistance of Needy Families (TANF)

The Department and its programs are complimentary in nature to allcurrently offered programs and will assist in filling current gaps in services offered by other agencies. the Social Services Department reflects Coeur d’Alene Tribal values of:

The administrative personnel provide technical support to the programs, ensure that all funding requirements are being met and that program and Tribal policies are being followed.
