James Twoteeth is a Coeur d’Alene Tribal Member and has worked for the tribe since 1997 when he started as a GIS intern. Over the last 20 some years James has held just about every position within in the GIS department from GIS tech all the way to GIS Manager. He has a bachelor’s degree in Cartography from University of Idaho with an emphasis in GIS. 

James has a deep experience in GIS Management as well as Tribal Government Operations. He has spent the last 20 years assisting and assembling large regional data sets for the Tribe’s area of interest, including LiDAR, satellite, airborne hyperspectral, and traditional GIS datasets. He supports GIS projects through geospatial solutions, database management, system management, project management, training and outreach for stakeholders.

James enjoys basketball, golf, and coaches the High School Varsity basketball team for the local high school (state champs!!).  He is also born and raised here mostly his whole life and resides in nearby Coeur d’Alene.

Berne Jackson is the Senior GIS Analyst/GIS System manager for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe in North Idaho. He has over 27 years’ experience with GIS, most of which was spent working for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe. He has extensive experience in geographic analysis and cartographic production.

His early work for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe focused on data collection and analysis for the Coeur d’Alene Basin NRDA (Natural Resource Damage Assessment) and worked extensively with the other members of that NRDA, including U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Geologic Survey, U.S. Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Justice.

In recent years, he has been focusing on the creation and maintenance of a large, enterprise-class Microsoft SQL Server based GIS, and web-based GIS using Esri’s ArcGIS Enterprise for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe.

He has also taught occasional classes for the University of Idaho in GIS analysis and web-based GIS.

Currently, he is semi-retired still working part time remotely for the Tribe from his home in Bozeman, Montana.

Aurelie Poncet is a Senior GIS Analyst/GIS System Manager with the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, bringing over 15 years of experience in geospatial science. She specializes in analyzing spatio-temporal data to support informed decision-making in agriculture and natural resource management. Her strengths include geospatial data workflows, visualization, database design, and programming.

Originally from France, Aurelie has lived in the United States for more than 10 years. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and gardening. She also has an interest in both martial arts and the creative arts.

Jackie has worked as a geologist in mining and mineral exploration since earning her bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University in 2016. She has primarily worked across Alaska, but had opportunities to work in Nevada, Arizona, and Ontario, Canada as well. In 2025 she completed her master’s in GIST through the University of Arizona.

Outside of work you can find Jackie traveling and spending time with her pup Rosie, spending time outdoors, rockhounding, or cooking, crafting, and reading at home.

Spencer Cook grew up in a house in the woods just east of Sandpoint, Idaho. First getting an Associate’s degree at North Idaho College’s Sandpoint-based satellite campus, he then moved to Moscow to complete his education at the University of Idaho. In May of this year, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geography, a Bachelor of Arts in History, and a Certificate in GIS. Now living in Coeur d’Alene, he is eager to begin his career in geospatial technology!
