Coeur d’Alene Casino is proud to announce CEO Francis SiJohn is the recipient of a Catalyst magazine Power award. SiJohn ranks in the top 10 of “Most Influential” business leaders in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Bozzi Media, who publishes Catalyst magazine, creates the annual list, along with a similar top 50 list for nearby Spokane, Washington. The magazine states that the list represents “our region’s most influential professionals–in time, presence and money–who have been shaping, and continue to shape, our community in positive ways.” Together, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Spokane, Washington, and the counties in which they are located, comprise a Combined Statistical Area (CSA) that ranks as the 71st largest in the United States.
A long-time leader within Coeur d’Alene Tribal Government, Francis SiJohn is in his third year as CEO of the Coeur d’Alene Casino. He has already overseen many positive initiatives, including a major 68,000 square-foot renovation to the casino, which was completed in March 2019. SiJohn and his team envisioned and executed the new unifying interior design, complete with new high-limit gaming and other amenities, plus the creation of a state-of-the-art event center. The event center, with its new world-class sound system and lighting has placed Coeur d’Alene Casino on a short list of premier concert venues in the region.
While the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel enjoys the visionary leadership of one of the region’s most influential movers and shakers, SiJohn’s influence reaches far beyond the walls of the Casino Resort Hotel. As an extension of traditional Native American hospitality, he maintains a commitment to both responsible environmental stewardship and support of education. Five percent of all gaming profits from the property go to public schools and education programs.
On receiving the Power 50 award, SiJohn notes “This is an incredible recognition not just for me but also for the Casino and the Coeur d’Alene Tribe. It’s an acknowledgement that our efforts in the local economy and the local community have not gone unnoticed. There are more great things to come.”
SiJohn and the other award recipients will be celebrated at an awards event on the evening of September 18th, 2019.
