The foster care placement will maintain the cultural, emotional, spiritual, and physical health of the Coeur d\u2019Alene tribal member child until adoption or reunification with the family can be achieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vision<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Coeur d\u2019Alene Tribal Foster Care Program is committed to ensuring all Coeur d\u2019Alene tribal member children who are impacted by foster care are safe, healthy, nurtured, and their culture is preserved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Forms<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cdatribe-nsn.gov\/ss\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2024\/12\/Foster-Care-Application12.18.24.pdf\">Foster Care Application<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What it means to foster a child<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Love, understanding, and guidance for a child who needs to grow emotionally, physically, and socially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Opening your home to a child who has been abused and\/or neglected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Venturing into a relationship to guide a child through their growing years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Embracing a child into the security of your stable home and family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is foster care<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Foster care is a temporary placement, which assists children in preparing for their return to their birth parents or another permanent placement such as adoption or guardianship.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Child Welfare Social Workers visit the home on a regular basis to provide services to support the&nbsp;child\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Foster parents receive a monthly stipend for their commitment to fostering a child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Foster care requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>21 years of age or older<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Single or married<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be substance abuse free<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>May own or rent your home<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be self-supporting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pass criminal background check<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obtain Foster Parent Certification<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend trainings (provided on-line or in person at no cost)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Live on or near the Coeur d\u2019Alene reservation and\/or have close ties to the tribe<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Foster care application<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Download and complete the application fully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"335\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cdatribe-nsn.gov\/ss\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2023\/05\/family-photo.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-249\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cdatribe-nsn.gov\/ss\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2023\/05\/family-photo.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.cdatribe-nsn.gov\/ss\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2023\/05\/family-photo-269x300.jpg 269w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This program project is funded by Grant No. 2018-VO-GX-0005 awarded by the U.S. Dept. of Justice.
