{"id":11,"date":"2019-05-30T22:14:53","date_gmt":"2019-05-30T22:14:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cdatribe-nsn.gov\/social-services\/?page_id=11"},"modified":"2024-09-19T04:37:47","modified_gmt":"2024-09-19T04:37:47","slug":"food-distribution","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.cdatribe-nsn.gov\/ss\/food-distribution\/","title":{"rendered":"Food Distribution"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mission Statement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Food Distribution Program is designed to promote the general welfare and to safeguard the health and well being of the community by raising the levels of nutrition among eligible low-income households living on or near the Coeur d&#8217;Alene or Kootenai reservations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Food Distribution Program is a federally funded program. The program provides commodity foods and nutrition education to lowincome households on the Coeur d&#8217;Alene reservation. The program is alternative to the food stamp program. At this time there are 246 households certified. Canned goods, fresh fruits, frozen meats and flour products are given out in a monthly supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program offers limited emergency food assistance. Referrals are made from the Social Services Department. The letter must contain the complainant\u2019s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation.
