In partnership with the Plummer/Worley School District, local families and community members, local colleges and universities, and the Coeur d’Alene Tribe’s Department of Education, NYCP has developed a three tier program that includes the following:

College Prep

Career Prep

Student Success

If you are interested in having your student participate in this program, complete and return the NYCP Waiver to the Coeur d’Alene Tribe’s Department of Education.

NYCP Waiver

College Prep

The Native Youth Community Project (NYCP) is committed to helping students achieve their dream of attending a post-secondary college or university. NYCP has carefully designed a college preparatory program that not only aids students in determining which college or university is right for them, but helps them build the skills necessary to be successful in a post-secondary environment. This is completed through a variety of workshops and events such as:

One-On-One Advising

Area of Study Workshops

College Application Workshops

Scholarship Writing Workshops

College Campus Tours

College and Career Fairs

Study Skills Workshops

Career Prep

The Native Youth Community Project (NYCP) understands that not all students want to attend a four-year college or university, but would rather enter into the workforce right out of high school. NYCP offers a career preparation program designed to help students determine what careers are right for them, and understand the steps they need to take to achieve those careers. This is completed through a variety of workshops and events such as:

One-On-One-Advising

Pre-Apprenticeship Programs

Career Exploration Workshops

College Program Exploration

College Campus Tours

College and Career Fairs

Study Skills Workshops

Study Skills Workshops

Job Shadowing Opportunities

Summer Internships

Student Success

The Native Youth Community Project (NYCP) understands that every student is unique, and that their needs are all different. Every student will have their own individualized digital portfolio which NYCP staff will use to personalize during each one-on-one advising session. Additionally, students will learn the art of time-management, and how to become an advocate for themselves in their academic and personal lives. Some of the activities and events in which students will participate are:

One-On-One Advising

Time Management Workshop

Self-Advocacy Training

Bi-Weekly Progress Review

Academic Support

Personalized College Exploration

Personalized Career Exploration

Dual Enrollment

Dual/Concurrent Enrollment is a collaborative partnership between Idaho’s colleges and universities to provide college courses for high school students giving them the option to earn both high school and college credit.
