  • To increase and enhance our collaboration efforts within the Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) to meet the needs of the Tribal community, through comprehensive, high quality services to children and families.

  • Improve the programs planning process to include a systematic, ongoing process of program planning to include Tribal Council, Policy Council, staff, parents and community partners.

  • Establish and maintain efficient and effective record-keeping and reporting systems in order to control program quality, maintain program accountability, and advise Tribal Council, Policy Council, staff and parents of progress.

  • Establish and implement procedures for the ongoing monitoring of EHS/HS operations to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the program, and inform governing bodies of the effectiveness of these procedures in meeting federal regulations.

  • To provide comprehensive health services to children, families, and staff, which ensures basic health needs are met, while encouraging preventive health practices to enhance life-long well-being

  • Establish links with community organizations and programs focused on health and nutrition to ensure children and families receive appropriate individualized services, and community resources are used in an efficient and effective manner.

  • Assist families in meeting each child and families’ nutrition needs and establishing good eating habits that nurture healthy growth and development.

  • The ECLC will enhance our relationship with the Coeur d’Alene Tribal School through collaboration in the areas of culture inclusion in the classroom and overall program.

  • Improve the participation of men in ECLC activities, trainings and decision-making.

  • Establish and maintain efficient and effective reporting systems in order to control program accountability, and advise Tribal Council, Policy Council, staff and parents of progress.

  • The Coeur d’Alene Tribe ECLC will improve communication with the community through a new community assessment.

  • Develop a comprehensive Disabilities Plan that meets the Head Start Performance Standards by the start of the 2005-2006 school year.

  • Build strong communication, working relationships and cooperation with outside providers, which will allow our program to better implement, provide and monitor Disabilities/Mental Health services in the classrooms.

  • Complete the Education division comprehensive Curriculum manual by the start of the 2005-2006 school year.

  • Streamline the program’s observation, screening and assessment procedures in order to get a whole picture of each child’s strengths, interests, needs and learning styles, which will support individualization efforts.

  • Increase the use of child outcomes data to determine how each child benefits from Head Start, how our program is meeting its goal and objectives, and how the results of child outcomes can be used for program planning and improvement.

  • Set up a tracking system to monitor all aspects of the Education division in order to meet the goals and objectives of the division. This would allow the Education Coordinator the opportunity to review documents, lesson plans, child files and assessments.

  • Increase communication with the teachers regarding information and updates throughout the program.
