Suggestions for Miss Julyamsh Introductory Remarks
(minimally be able to introduce yourself and name a few family members)

Hnqwa’qwe’eln (Language Center) will assist Miss Julyamsh candidates to add some simple remarks in the Coeur d’Alene Language to their speeches. It is culturally appropriate to introduce yourself in the language by stating your name and some of the members of your family so that others can identify you with your family. When introducing yourself to Elders, you would likely need to name your grandparents for them to place family lineage.

Below are some ideas. You may pick and choose what you want for your introduction in the Language, to be followed by the main part of your speech in English.
